OUR APPROACH

Small pauses.
Thoughtful money choices.

The TULA Pause helps children slow down, notice a feeling, ask a question and choose a next step—with a grown-up’s support as needed.

A small practice for an everyday choice.

The Tula Pause™ gives families a repeatable way to slow the moment down. With younger children, a grown-up supports the pause. As children grow, they practise using it more independently.

TAKE A BREATH

Make room.

Stop for a moment before acting on the urge.

USE SILENCE

Let the moment settle.

A little quiet gives the child room to notice what is happening.

LOOK CURIOUSLY

Notice.

What do I feel? What do I want? What choices do I have?

ASK A QUESTION

Choose a next step.

Do I need this now? What am I saving for? What matters to me?

Then take the wisest workable step. Keep the language simple enough for your child, and practise together.

The parent practises too.

Pause and breathe before responding. Lower your voice and soften your body. Try: “Let’s pause for a moment.”

Then take the wisest workable step. Practise together, with room to notice, ask and choose.

LEARNING THAT GROWS

Choose a seed.
Give it care. Give it time.

Growing a bean and growing a healthy relationship with money work the same way. You choose a seed. You prepare the soil. You water it, give it light—and it isn’t ready tomorrow.

The wait becomes a lesson in patience, care and thoughtful choices. A living plant gives a family something to notice, talk about and return to together.

01

Plant.

Begin with one small activity and a question your child can explore.

02

Practise.

Return to everyday choices: saving, sharing, waiting, helping and trying again.

03

Notice growth.

Look back together. What changed in the plant? What changed in the way you chose?

Try it at the family table.

Your child wants to spend all their saved money on something they have just seen.

Take one quiet breath together. Ask: “What do you like about it?” Then: “Is there something else you are saving for?”

The aim is to help the child notice the choice and practise making it with support. Return to the conversation as often as you need.

Let’s grow this together.
